<p>I would add this:  do you blog to make money or do you just love writing? </p>
<p>Its interesting to note that the blogging platform is an indication of the quality of the writing. WordPress has a history of <a href="http://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2007/04/09/why-wordpresscom-is-virtually-spam-free/trackback"  rel=nofollow>quality writers</a>, while up to <a href="http://www.infoniac.com/hi-tech/google-blogs-spam.html"  rel=nofollow>75% of all blogspot blogs are splogs</a>. </p>
<p>Ahmed goes on to say:</p>
<blockquote><p>The hard reality is that 90% of the time, the answer is no. It’s no because there’s nothing new there. It’s no because there’s nothing useful there. </p></blockquote>
<p>I have to agree that this is correct, especially with so many blogspot splogs.  <a href="http://homebizblogger.com/2007/04/09/why-i-blog/" rel=nofollow>Eve Lester</a> has written a post titled &#8220;why I blog&#8221;  which includes Meeting new people, Learning new things, Having History, and Someone to talk to.<br />

<p>New extensions including .me, .co and .xxx have been released and have only caused confusion in the marketplace. The consumer needs less distraction, not more, and introducing new TLD&#8217;s is just confusing.<br />

<p>Any registrar such as <a href="http://www.netpaths.net/m/godaddy">godaddy.com</a>, <a href="http://www.netpaths.net/blog/enom-promo-codes-for-discount-domain-name-registrations/">enom.com</a> or registerfly.com has to buy their names from Verisign at whatever cost Verisign sets. There is no other provider. They increased the price 7% instantly booking $27 million in new revenue.</p>

<p>Anyone want to bet on another 7% increase next year?  Enom is already raising prices for domain name resellers, and increasing prices for their namejet.com domain name aftermarket service.</p>

<p>A good way to write titles is:</p>
<p>    * Home Page: Brand/Site Name &#8211; Keyword Description<br />
    * Inner Pages: Specific Keyword Description &#038; Page Name &#8211; Brand/Site Name </p>
<p>2 &#8211; If a user uses delicious.com or bookmarks your site you want your name to be first. So it would be better to have the title be:</p>
<p>Brand Name &#8211; Find all Brand Products Here</p>
<p>than:</p>
<p>Keyword Phrase 1, Keyword Phrase 2, Keyword Phrase 3 Brand name. Your Brand name would get lost.</p>
<p>3 &#8211; For people that read title elements and page headings, its good to keep them in synch. So your title tag should be a reworded version of your page <h> tag.</p>
<p>A good way to write an effective optimized title tag is to answer a question.  Think as if you were on Jeopardy and you were trying to write a title that Alex Trabeck would like.
