Everyone wants a number one position in search engines, but just how valuable is the top spot in Google? Cornell University did a study on click behavior on search engine result pages showing click percentages for each of the 10 positions on a search engine results page .

The result is staggering - the difference in clicks between the #1 result and the #2 result is a bank busting four times as many clicks for the #1 website.

So you can essentially quadruple your business by moving up to number one from the second spot.
