You wouldn’t feel it but I’ve wasted all day trying to find people who are copying our content and using it on their websites without permission - they are killing our SEO.

Duplicate content will never go away, thankfully we can use it to our SEO advantage by requiring backlinks.

So you are advocating we share our best information with other websites? I favor your frame of mind towards enhancing content sharing for backlinks, but i'm not giving my hard work to someone else if there is a chance I won't benefit from it. Thanks for putting this particular information up, but i'm not going to risk helping other websites rank for my content.

I don't really know how huge sites like Craigslist and Ebay get away with showing so much duplicate content. There are thousands of scrapers and bots that copy these sites and you've got the typical scammers that attempt to ruin things for for the users. Don't misunderstand me there are benefits to syndication and republication, but does the good really outweigh the bad?

What a great idea - I always thought Google disliked duplicate content and never knew a way around it.

It's really driving through to a deeper understanding of effective content sharing. Linking is loving and sharing is caring!

In terms of SEO sharing content can be tricky to get right. If you don't manage to receive citations for your work, other websites will outrank you for your own content.
