So you are advocating we share our best information with other websites? I favor your frame of mind towards enhancing content sharing for backlinks, but i’m not giving my hard work to someone else if there is a chance I won’t benefit from it. I don’t really know how huge sites like Craigslist and Ebay get away with showing so much duplicate content. There are thousands of scrapers and bots that copy these sites and you’ve got the typical scammers that attempt to ruin things for for the users. Don’t misunderstand me there are benefits to syndication and republication, but does the good really outweigh the bad?

In terms of SEO sharing content can be tricky to get right. If you don’t manage to receive citations for your work, other websites will outrank you for your own content.
