Washington State Library RFPJuly 20Gayle Palmer Digital Imaging Coordinator Washington State Library Olympia, WA 98504-2460 Dear Ms. Palmer: NetPaths.net welcomes the opportunity to respond to your RFP for a Digital Best Practices Web site; our proposal accompanies this letter. We have both the interest and the skills to create a superior resource for your program. Developing this site will be a particularly satisfying task. In expert hands, some projects can seem almost cut and dried; not so with this one. To be inviting, clear and a pleasure to use, this site will have to be very carefully crafted. If selected, we will rely heavily on the skills of my partner, Ingvar Grimsgaard. With more than three decades as an A/V writer/producer, he is both talented and very experienced in organizing materials with the clarity required for reference and learning objectives. Though technical skills are perhaps more abundant, my programming team and I also hope for the opportunity to address the challenge of your project. Our proposal is brief, as you have suggested. The relatively general specifications of the RFP have naturally required us to make a number of assumptions. We know that some of these may not be accurate and are fully prepared to shift our focus and resources to the actual requirements of the task. With more specific knowledge of the job, we would have been able to be more detailed about costs. We have based our projections on the following: a rather sophisticated and complex site to be done and a maximum budget of something less than $30,000. As cost is one criterion of selection, we have made $24,000 a target and our budget is projected accordingly . Hopefully, we are not too far off target. We know it can be done for less, but we know that the cost element in selection criteria does not mean that you want anything less than a first-class job. That is what we want to do. If you would like additional information during your evaluation process, please contact us. Thanks, also, for your timely responses to my inqueries. We look forward to hearing of your selection. Sincerely,
|
